The Workstation Gets a Veto
optimal
The fake rack grew a queue. Mock GPUs now lease one at a time. Fair order, not whoever shouted. The desk that owns the box can veto a run. Private jobs stay opaque — you do not get a window into someone else's work.
A slot does not open because a log line claimed the process ended. Stop is checked first. Then the lease. Real jobs fail closed on preflight. Routing is deterministic. No heroic retry that pretends the gate was optional.
Fixtures still stand in for the heavy bits: a local model lifecycle, a small retrieval store, named image workflows. Measured hardware is on the inventory. The remaining gates are still gates. Weights did not arrive. The control plane did.
